Description: Season 5 Five years after the night of the shooting at Eugene's house there are a lot of unanswered questions and unresolved issues. The Spencers' lives have changed dramatically in the aftermath of what seems to be a family murder committed by Chris Spencer. Thandeka is still haunted by that terrible night. Ma Rose has moved back to Johannesburg where she stays on Ansie's property in a little cottage. Ansie drives Ma Rose round the bend when she overextends her rights as a landlady but the two women lean on one another in mysterious ways. Ricci and Wong return from Paris to find Ma Rose in a vulnerable state. She is unable to come to terms with the loss of the little girl she fostered while working in an orphanage home. Can life go on without Kate and who really shot her and the children?
