The Rap Game
Description: In his more than 30 years in the hip-hop industry, Grammy winner Jermaine Dupri has mentored a number of young talents who have made it big in the industry, including Bow Wow and Da Brat. He continues that work on "The Rap Game," in which five young rappers between the ages of 12 and 16 compete to earn a record contract with Dupri's label, So So Def Recordings. The youngsters become immersed in Atlanta's hip-hop scene as Dupri guides them on their journey. The artists competing for a contract include Lil' Niqo who, at 10, became the youngest rapper signed to Island Def Jams; Lil' Poopy, the youngest of the group, who has performed with the likes of Puff Daddy and Rick Ross; Miss Mulatto, who has already made a name for herself in Atlanta; Supa Peach, who raps, sings, dances and models; and Young Lyric, who recorded her first song at the age of 7. Special guests -- including Usher, Ludacris and T.I. -- join Dupri in mentoring the kids throughout the season.
