Six British families with different needs welcome Fitbot, Carebot, Tutorbot, and Beam into their homes for aid, from helping them get fit, to easing the burden of care and from helping them understand the world, to teaching them how to enjoy it. The documentary shows first-hand how much the state-of-the-art robots can and cannot do to assist with everyday life. Robotics expert Professor Jonathan Rossiter and psychologist Dr Caroline Jay monitor and document every move of the robots, and more importantly, their hosts.
