This programme teaches viewers about some of the drivers as it follows three celebrity car enthusiasts who retrace the steps of some of the nation's racing legends. Each celebrity speaks to one legend's friends and family to learn about the racer and what made him great, charting the highs and lows - including near-death experiences - of the racer's career. The celebrities also go beyond just the drivers and find out about the vehicles they drove and the crews that worked with them to help put them in pole position.
