Keeping Britain Alive: The NHS in a Day
Description: For one October day in 2012, 100 camera crews were stationed across the UK to film every aspect of the NHS, from cancer units to bariatric wards, air ambulances to neurosurgery, to capture the demands placed on the world's largest free healthcare system. The result is this eight-part series, which captures the vivid patchwork of human experience - the grief, heroism, tragedy, relief, joy, bitterness, hilarity, frustration, compassion, tedium and selflessness - that are evident across Britain's biggest institution every single day. The series also provokes profound questions about what the NHS does for citizens now and what can be expected of it in the future.
