Each episode of "Hotel Showdown" matches four different independently owned properties against one another in the winner-take-all competition. The participants get the chance to roll out the red carpet for their rivals, who spend one night at each property and, using an exacting eye for detail, award points for every aspect of their experience. Unique, special features are showcased in a variety of hotels, as are the towns where they are located. The hotelier with the highest star rating wins the prize.
