Full Steam Ahead
Description: `Full Steam Ahead' is a six-part documentary series following historians Ruth Goodman, Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn as they explore the golden age of steam and examine how Victorian railways shaped modern Britain. In the first episode the hosts travel back to the early 19th century when steam railways were first introduced in Britain. The transportation system transformed the way communities lived by making it possible to transfer heavy industrial goods across the country, from the slate used for roofs to the coal used for cooking.
