Description: The English Channel is one of the world's busiest waterways, with more than 500 ships passing through on a daily basis. Some of the traffic, including fishermen and yachts, are for pleasure while some of it, such as freighters, are travelling through the Channel for business purposes. Then there's, perhaps, the most important aspect of the Channel's traffic: the patrollers who keep the area safe. `Channel Patrol' profiles people aboard the different types of vessels that traverse the water as the pleasure-seekers, workers and patrollers must work together to stay safe despite their different reasons for utilising the Channel. Among the featured crews are a rescue crew who answer mayday calls, the Royal Navy's underwater bomb squad and a trawler crew who deal with strict fishing regulations to earn a living as commercial fishermen.
