Description: Peter and Eva, a nice young couple expecting their first child, buy a house in a suburban village. Before they get to move into their new home, they lose the baby girl. Eva has a hard time coping with her loss. Peter has mixed feelings. The baby wasn't his to begin with. He's infertile and hopes the chapter of having children has now come to an end. When they meet their new neighbors Rebecca and Steven, a carefree outgoing couple, that helps them forget their pain. But are Rebecca and Steven really who they say they are? Big Red Tent is a film about a transgender community living on the streets of Los Angeles and the challenges they contend with in 2017. Our first step into this world is Aliyah Rae, a young black transgender woman living on the streets of Hollywood who courageously remains true to herself despite relentless opposition. Big Red tent is a window into Aliyah's life and the people she surrounds herself with-be it friends, family or neighbors-who share with us their ambitions, regrets, desires, daily struggles, and thoughts on the shared human condition, and whose stories and experience also reflect circumstances faced by many individuals within the greater trans community.
