A Very British Country House
Description: For the first time in its 350-year history, Cliveden House in Berkshire opens its doors to cameras in this four-part series. Built in 1851, Cliveden House has been the home of various aristocrats and royals. It was a favourite of Queen Victoria, and was frequented by the Queen and her sister, Princess Margaret, in their youth. In the early twentieth century it was also visited by Winston Churchill, George Bernard Shaw, and Charlie Chaplin, and later became the setting for the infamous Profumo Affair. In `A Very British Country House', the luxury five-star hotel's 162 staff are busy in preparation for the arrival of a secret 'VVIP' - who turns out to be Meghan Markle for her last night as commoner before her marriage to Prince Harry. General manager Kevin, butler Michael, wedding planner Lydia and sommelier Sean are among the crew creating a memorable experience for the unique event.
